Victoria College offers more than 100 admission scholarships to outstanding secondary school students who indicate Victoria College as their first choice college at the University of Toronto.
Most of the awards recognize excellence in secondary school subjects; a few are specifically designated for students who show special proficiency in the Humanities and Social Sciences or in Sciences. Students receiving these scholarships will receive notification of the award with their offer of admission from the University of Toronto.
Some scholarships, such as the Professor George Metcalf Scholarship, the General Motors Admission Award, or the Gerald Allen Hollingshead Memorial Scholarship, can provide up to $20,000 (up to $5,000 in first year and $5,000 each for the second, third and fourth years). Most Victoria College admission scholarships range in value from $3,000 to $5,000.
Applicants with an average in the mid-90's will be automatically considered for (though not guaranteed) an admission scholarship when they apply to Victoria College. A few of Victoria College’s admission scholarships have specific criteria beyond academic performance. To be considered for these awards, applicants who have demonstrated leadership qualities through their involvement in extracurricular or community activities, or who have excelled in the creative or performing arts, or athletics, or have demonstrated financial need are encouraged to complete the scholarship information section of the Victoria College Student Profile. Please note that each qualifying applicant will receive only one admission scholarship in total from Victoria College.
