Scholarships

How are scholarships assessed?
Admission scholarships are automatically assessed at the time of admission. Scholarships and awards are highly competitive at Vic. Applicants will need an admission average above 90% to be considered.

Are there any special awards students can apply for?
Vic has a limited number of admission awards that consider factors in addition to academic merit. Students who have demonstrated community involvement, leadership or have demonstrated financial need are encouraged to submit the Scholarship Information Form. The Scholarship Information Form is available following the completion of the Victoria College Student Profile.

In addition, we have a special scholarship for students who wish to pursue a career as an elementary or high school teacher. The Vari Scholarship is a very generous scholarship that provides funding for five years (includes one year at OISE or fifth year of CTEP for a total of $50,000). The 2013/14 application is now open.

When will students be notified that they have received a scholarship from Vic?
Students will be notified of any scholarship offers with their offer of admission.

If a student’s final marks increase is it possible for them to be reconsidered for a Vic admission scholarship?
Unfortunately, students are only considered for scholarships at the time of admission. However, this is not the only opportunity for students to receive a scholarship at Vic. We offer guaranteed in-course scholarships for students who maintain an A average in their first, second and third year, as well as a range of other awards. We also offer bursaries for students with demonstrated financial need. Please visit our Scholarships and Bursaries page for more information.

How much does the typical admission scholarship range from?
Victoria College admission scholarships generally range from $3,000-$5,000. Some admissions scholarships may be renewable for multiple years.
