Michael Winter- Wed. Jan.23.2013 (NF003, 4pm)

Michael Winter is the author of two collections of stories and four novels. He grew up in Newfoundland and now lives in the village of Roncesvalles just west of Toronto. While working on a non-fiction account of the Newfoundland regiment during World War One, he managed to build a shed -- and he still has ten fingers. The best thing he's researched so far is a navy cat with a lifejacket made out of champagne corks.
Michael will give a talk entitled: "Making Believe: how to convince a reader that a story really happened."
