Ward McBurney graduated from Victoria with a BA (Honours) in English in 1990. He has worked as an editor, historical interpreter, and farm hand. While working as part of Dr. Jean O'Grady's editorial team on the Collected Works of Northrop Frye, he was diagnosed with Parkinson's Disease. Since then, he has devoted himself entirely to reading and writing. He is the author of 3 books of poetry, 2 collections of CBC radio stories, and 2 historical novels, both set in Toronto (and elsewhere) during the Great War (1914---1918) and after.
