Cultural Concepts Student Mentor Application

We're looking for Vic students to be mentors for Cultural Concepts in the Winter 2016 semester. Being a mentor is a rewarding volunteer experience, and will particularly interest you if you have a passion for the humanities, fine arts, education, or social work. Mentors who complete the program in good standing receive a designation on their co-curricular record (CCR).

Volunteer Responsibilities

  • Attend all 4 sessions of Cultural Concepts (Wednesdays, 12-2 pm, January 27-February 24, 2016 at Victoria College).
  • Complete any weekly assigned readings
  • Welcome community participants at each session and make conversation over lunch
  • Facilitate group discussion of assigned readings

Eligibility Requirements

  • Must be a Victoria College student
  • Must be in second year or above
  • Availability to attend every session is a mandatory requirement for all mentors. We are unable to accommodate weeks off for holidays, exams, etc.

Please note that we may receive more applications than positions available. We consider academic history, extracurricular activities, and your statement of interest on your application in choosing mentors.
