Over the past half-century, life in the modern world has become increasingly defined in relation to technology. While the latest gadgets and software offer many benefits, their impacts are far from being uncomplicated or wholly positive. Technology is changing business, politics, education, medical care, and social interaction—sometimes for the good, sometimes for the better, and sometimes in ways we have trouble defining.
Technology in Society will focus on questions about technological advances and their impacts on society. For example, we may consider issues such as the history of technological change, use of social media, applications of digital technology in health care, and access to technology in developing countries.
