Victoria University presents Inclusivity in Tech, an evening of discussion, and networking on March 13. The event will shed light on the ranging and expansive career opportunities for underrepresented groups in technology in 2019 (LGBTQ+, racialized, non-binary, women, and more!).
Technology offers an incredible amount of opportunity for those entering the job market, but getting in can be half the battle. Many of these individuals are drastically underrepresented in the industry, yet many who enter the space find remarkable success in this ever expanding career area.
5:30pm-6:00pm (Registration)- Coffee, Tea, Pizza and Snacks
5:45pm-6:15pm (Networking: Building Connections and Insight)– This 30 minute session, hosted by Career Educator Rebecca Hazell, will help you unpack networking and learn how to create meaningful connections with professionals.
6:15pm-7:30pm Opening Remarks and Concurrent Breakout Sessions– "Company Cultures", "State of Inclusivity in Technology", "Pathways to Jobs" (students will be able to attend all sessions and listen to speakers talk about their experience in relation to the theme and personal identity).
