Major Program
The Major Program affords all the advantages that intensive, cross-disciplinary study of a single period can offer. As a consequence it can usefully be combined with Specialist, Major, and Minor programs in a wide variety of other fields: to cite only a few, Western European Languages and Literature, History, Political Science, Religious Studies, History of Science, Fine Art History and Music.

The Minor Program is particularly useful in introducing students specializing intensively in another area to the principles of interdisciplinary study in an historical field; it is a valuable support for many other Major and Specialist programs.
