Are you interested in being a Commuter Orientation Leader? The Commuter Orientation Weekend will be taking place on the weekend of August 9-11th, 2019.
***Please note that this year our residences will be very busy with both our first and upper year students who will be moving in earlier. Billeting priority will be given to students who have a longer commute that might absolutely need accommodation in residence.***
Will you require a place to stay on campus during orientation week? Leaders who are not living in residence can be billeted with a residence leader (see above disclaimer). Please check the statement that applies to you:

Leaders in Residence: If you have a Commuter Leader friend that you would like to have stay with you during the week, please list their name(s).
Commuter Leaders: If you have a Residence Leader friend that you would like to stay with during the week, please list their name(s).
Leaders carry out different shift duties throughout Orientation that are randomly assigned. There are also specific leader roles that leaders can choose to do. Please select the roles that you would like to be considered for.
Media Leader: These leaders are present at all the events during Orientation taking photos and video clips that will be used in various ways such as promotion of future Orientation Weeks! Owning your own camera is an asset for this role!
Transitional Seminars: Seminars offered on various relevant topics for first year students to aid in their transition into university life. Possible topics include managing your finances, transition to life in the city, stress management, etc.
LGBTQ+ and Ally Event: An event for LGBTQ+ students and allies. This is an opportunity to find out more about LGBTQ+ resources and groups that are available at Vic, U of T, and beyond.
Tech Leader: These leaders work as a team to support all of the technical aspects of all Orientation Events. Tech experience is not necessary, but strongly encouraged!
Orientation Plays: Production presented at the Isabel Bader theater featuring skits that address university life and the transition into university. No acting experience necessary!
Media release: during Orientation Week, media leaders will be taking photos and video clips that may be used for promotional purposes, for example, in the mailing or on the website in future years.
