June 2018: Requests were accepted in ACORN from September 16, 2017 to January 31, 2018. If you would like to add a late request or cancel a request, complete and return a Degree Request Form immediately.

November 2018: Requests will be accepted in ACORN from June 27, 2018 to August 15, 2018.

Ceremonies

June 2018: In order to confirm that you will be attending Convocation you will be required to rent a gown and hood from the University of Toronto approved supplier, Gaspard LP, between Monday, May 7, 2018 2017 at 10 a.m. (EST) and Tuesday, May 22, 2018 at 5 p.m. (EST). A valid credit card (VISA or Mastercard) is required at the time of reservation for gown/hood rental payment.

RSVP for your ceremony and order guest tickets on ACORN under 'Graduation & Convocation' between May 7, 2018 and May 22, 2018. Note: you need to have your gown rental ID number (5 digit alpha numeric found in the email you receive from the Gaspard LP – Regalia order) in order to RSVP.

For the June 12, 2018 afternoon Victoria College Ceremony only, gowns and hoods will be available for pick-up in Alumni Hall (main floor, Victoria College Building), between 11 a.m. and 12:45 p.m. Regalia must be returned immediately after the ceremony to the Convocation Plaza Tent.

Awards Ceremony (by invitation only):
Students: Victoria College Chapel (second floor, VC) by 8:45 a.m.

Guests: Isabel Bader Theatre (BT) doors open at 9 a.m. for 10 a.m. ceremony

Gown and Hood Pick-up: 11 a.m. - 12:45 p.m.*
Alumni Hall, main floor, Victoria College building (VC)

Lunch: 11:15 a.m. - 1 p.m.
Outdoor luncheon for graduands and guests in the Burwash Quad (lawn outside VC).
In the event of inclement weather, the lunch may be moved indoors.

Graduating Student Marshalling: 1 p.m.
All graduating students must report to the Bader Theatre (BT) by 1 p.m. to be put in the order of procession.

Guest Seating: 1 p.m. - 2 p.m.

Webcast: 2:30 p.m. - 4 p.m.
Lower level, Northrop Frye Hall (NF), room 003

Seating is first-come, first-served, no tickets required. Doors open at 2 p.m. The ceremony will also be livestreamed  in the Convocation Plaza Tent outside of Convocation Hall.

* Graduating student gowns will only be available for pick up from Victoria College. Faculty and staff gowns rented through Gaspard's will be available for pick-up from Howard Ferguson Dining Hall, main floor, 75 St George St.

Diplomas

Your name in ACORN will appear on your diploma.

Is your name missing accents? If so, please see Office of Convocation webpage for information. For any other changes to your name, please come to the Victoria College Registrar's Office with photo identification to complete a Change of Name or Gender Form. Deadlines for name changes and diplomas apply.

If you do not attend your Convocation ceremony you may pick-up your diploma from the Office of Convocation (Simcoe Hall, 27 King's College Circle, room 102) or you may arrange to have your diploma mailed. See the website for pick-up dates.

Students who upgrade to an Honours degree or a four-year degree are NOT eligible to attend the convocation ceremony to receive the upgraded degree. For those upgrading to an Honours degree, original diplomas must be returned to the Office of Convocation before new diplomas will be released.

Diplomas will not be released to students who have outstanding fees from previous sessions. To have a financial hold released, present proof of payment to the Victoria College Registrar's Office, NF106. Financial holds normally take 2-3 business days to clear. 


Events

The backpack to Briefcase (b2B) program provides opportunities for students to understand their education and the kinds of skills and knowledge they can bring to a working environment. Students can attend various types of b2B events such as workshops, panel discussions and the annual UofT Next Steps Conference.

Login to the Career Learning Network (CLN) to search on and off-campus jobs and manage your applications; engage in experiential opportunities with employers, alumni and partners and view and register for career and employer events.

Graduation Banquet: Friday, April 27. Further details tba.

Ideas for the World is a free, innovative program for upper-year Vic students. Graduating students are encouraged to register for Forging our Future in the fall or winter.

Photos

Lassman Studios is under contract with VUSAC to take official graduation photos. You must have your photo taken to appear in the Graduating Class Composite. Included in the $10.00 (cash only) sitting fee are numerous unique digital proofs and a digital copy of the graduating class composite. An 11x14 printed copy of the composite may be purchased at the time of your sitting for an additional $15.00. Hard copy proofs may also be purchased for an additional $5.00 if desired.

Final 2018 Composite Dates for June and November Grads: April 6

3. Book your session online.

Photos will be taken in the lower level of the Goldring Student Services Centre, 150 Charles St W, room 16 (exercise room beneath Café).

Requirements and Confirmation

It is the student's responsibility to verify that all program of study and degree requirements are complete. Degree Explorer, an on-line tool, performs degree and program assessments. Students may make appointments to review degree level requirements with an academic advisor at the Victoria College Registrar's Office. Please ensure that your programs of study are correct and up to date on ACORN before you make a graduation request. Questions regarding programs requirements should be directed to departments.

Students who request to graduate in June will receive email confirmation of program status from departments in February or March. Students who request to graduate in November will receive confirmation in September or October. Program status is also posted in Degree Explorer. If you have questions about the accuracy of a program assessment, please check with the department or program sponsor.

Only the Faculty of Arts and Science can confirm that degree requirements are complete. Confirmation is emailed in late October for November graduates and April/May for June graduates. Should you require early confirmation, you may request a Letter of Eligibility to Graduate. If your degree has already been conferred, you may request a University of Toronto Certification of Degree. Transcripts are available from the University of Toronto. Third parties are directed to the University of Toronto Confirmation of Degree website
